Driving the Nurburgring and Autobahn

This has been a life long dream, to drive the Nurburgring. Just like many Grand Tourismo playing kids who grew up to became car guys, the Nurburgring occupies a nostalgic corner of my brain. The castles, roundabouts, and schnitzel are just the excuse to get behind the wheel and see how long we can hold ...

All the most important steps for rebuilding any Holley 4 barrel carburetor are in this video. Years ago, I made a rebuild video which was not great. The comments on that video really support that fact. It kinda sucked. So I spent weeks shooting, scripting, and editing the most comprehensive video full of general carb rebuilding information I could pack into a succinct video for your edu-tainmen...

Cheap cuticle tool with v shape holds tiny ball. I only took mine apart to clean work great now tthanks
Thanks for the info😊
Thank you for posting this! I just came home from the grocery store and I bought fish! Didn’t know about the emergency latch. I guess I’ll be ordering a new latch. Your video is so straight forward I believe I could replace it myself! Thank you!!!
why is the same guy doing sooooo many of these!?? cut cu snip snip so many holes and wires chopped, i have to redo ALLLLLLLL the wiring cuz of this guy! was kinda funny, then got mad, now im just 😭!! WTF???
Probably a dumb question, but here it goes: If you had used a rear diff from an earlier S10 with drum brakes, would it have been easier? Yes I know the rear discs provide better braking, but since I am not going to be racing my Vega, I would probably take the trade-off of easier install and giving up some braking power. Thanks!
For me, the level of difficulty and amount of work are not really any different between the two. It seemed the best bang for the buck was to go with the more advanced upgrade parts available.
@@BurnoutsAndRotorblades Much appreciated, great video.
Hi. I'm from Portugal. Very good video.
Donde se compra el kit?
Ordered directly from the manufacturer.
Thanks for this video. I have the same vibration issues and it pops when turning the wheel coming out of a parking spot, or hitting a bump.
There is a lot of stuff in there that can go bump-in-the-night. My sway bar end links still clunk when I go over an off-camber bump. I also need to knock out the sway bar bushings just to be sure. I know the strut bushings are notorious for going bad and I have a pair, even though mine are probably fine. The other potential culprit I haven’t mentioned is the steering rack. That’s just from folks in the forums mentioning it, not from personal experience.
@@BurnoutsAndRotorblades I have a set of lowering springs and strut mounts/bushings waiting to go in. Im going to have to order control arms as well like the ones you replaced.
Thank you so much for telling your story and putting out this info.
Is there a brand you recomend?
Not specifically.
What shouldn't be used to clean a carb??
Anything corrosive to aluminum.
@@BurnoutsAndRotorblades hey thank you for the information. I've never worked on a carb. Before, I'm debating on if I should. Looks like an easy place to screw up .
@user-gd2mr6tj8y buy a used one. If I can do it, just about anyone can.
One minute in and I am already subscribing, you do a great job making videos.
What is that radio you’re running?
It's a Stinger HEIGHT10. Its a turd that was installed with galvanized pipe strap and wood screws in a now-destroyed stock bezel. It's unable to take an update, likely because of some form of planned obsolescence. I plan to replace it with a pimped out silverbox from whites automotive and a factory nav screen complete with gloss black trim from an SS. The Stinger is yours if you pay for shipping.
Man thanks for showing where the hose goes to the carburetor
👍

Unbelievably helpful video! Very well done thank you!!
I’ll ask about flight programs for my vr&e.
Can a 134a gauge set be used on a conversion from R22 with ester oil or would the gauge set now be contaminated?
I've heard people swear on it both ways, but I'm not taking any chances.
What a great little helper ! Everyone should have such a nice helper. Glad you can pass on your knowledge to the next generation. Thanks for posting this video. Oh, another great helper ! Go DAD !
Beautiful!
Hey I love the video, very informative, but how well does it disengage now? My example question would be: highway speed, curve in said highway?
in a straight line it's disengaged. I would say, any turn less than about 30 degrees is not going to engage it. More than that it's speed dependent.
Hey buddy I was just watching your video that a friend on a Squarebody group recommended to me & I was wondering if you could tell me about the product that you showed at about 23:57 in your vid. Is it also some kind of door edge guard? I hope to hear back!! Thanks for the awesome vid. 😁👍🏻
it's exactly what it sounds like. ordered it from amazon.
Will you rebuild my 1986 Quadrajet? Please!
The video is to show you how to do it and the resources you'll need. There are rebuilders out there, but I'm not one of them. Thank you for the vote of confidence, though I will admit editing can make anyone look like they know what they're doing. If I can do it, you can too. Good luck.
Loved my '72 put a 327 / powerglide in it and drove acrossed country. La to Indy. Fun.
I love that the kid was involved and helm was used. but i would've recommended providing safety gloves as well. But that may just be me, I'd be a bit paranoid of sparks.
I am a 100% disabled vet. I have my private w/instrument rating and applied for VR&E had my interview and they denied me any advice
I guess it has more to do with what you intend to do with it and with how much certainty you can show them you'll get a job after.
COOL VIDEO!! LUV EM TOO!!!!
Which things can we claim on VA disability as we’re getting out of the service, that won’t affect our flying ability in like Major Airlines?
There is a list of disqualifying illnesses on the FAA website. I would also look around on some forums. I know PTSD and anything requiring medication are basically disqualifying.
Thanks for mentioning the year of the truck in the description. The first video I watched failed to mention it anywhere so I didn't know if his configuration was going to match mine. Your 1984 is going to match my 1981 C10, so I guess I'm going to have to pull the radio after all - didn't think I'd have to. Thanks for the video.
What transmission are you running? I have a 74 hatch back vega that I'm getting a 383 stroker for and was wondering if you have the muncie 4 speed in it? Love the videos thank you for all the info!
I know it's a 4 speed, but I'm not sure which. I kinda want to go to a 5 speed. 55 in Texas is almost neighborhood speed.
Just bought used junk one. & in my way to rebuild it. Its my first holley carb ever. Thanks for helpful video
Thanks for the video. I’m about to tackle the carb on my 1973 International truck. I know it takes more effort than people realize to make these videos. I rebuild Model T Ford carburetors and made a video about 6 months ago of a Holley G carburetor. Check it out and you can see what Holley was up to in 1915.
What if I already have a great job with excellent pay (teaching in a flight simulator, actually)? I want to go get my commercial/multi/ATP ratings and go airlines, but aren't they likely to just say "You don't have an employment handicap. You've been at the same job for __ years." Also, if I already have a bachelor's degree, do I have to get another bachelor's degree to get the flight training, since they don't do "vocational-only" flight training?
Had a jeep that locked me out years ago, time and time again. Prying and coat hangers destroyed the door, so i Spent about 50 bucks on a pick rod and pump bag, and have used it many times since. Lol I have even made the occasional 20-50 bucks in parking lots when i see folks locked out. Win-win. 👍🏻
Is there a seal between the master cylinder and the hydro boost unit? Getting ready to do this job. 82. C30
I bought a new GT hatchback in 1974. The GT really meant something, as it had beefed up suspension and steering, a 4 sp manual, and wide tires. I thought it looked great and I loved driving it. Handling was great. At the time I bought it word was already getting out that they were oil burners, although the reason for it wasn't really out there yet. I figured I could beat it by changing my oil every 2,000 miles, which I did. So I was kind of ticked when it began to use a quart every 1,000 mi. I finally got rid of it in '79, trading it in for a '78 Celica, which was what I really wanted anyway. But new ones were too pricey for me. As to the oil burning, many years later I learned the story. GM wanted that aluminum block but tried to save money by not sleeving the cylinders. They impregnated the cylinder walls with silicon. Nice idea but the silicon proved to be much harder than the steel piston rings. The rings quickly wore to the point of letting oil into the cylinders. And there you are -- an oil burner. I think Vegas would've been around longer if it weren't for that experimental aluminum engine. Great car otherwise.
Ty for this video. You killed it. Id like to see a carb tune up video.
Former Security Forces troop and current defense contractor here... I've had several friends make their way to the helo and drone programs through the VA but I've been dragging my feet. Your video broke it down to the point I actually feel comfortable jumping into the process... Well when I'm not oconus that is.

Great video! I would like to find one of those Aneroid cup spacers? Mine came off a 1987 350 but did not have one of those in it.
This video did NOT suck in the least. Well done, and thanks for posting!
I was considering using glasspack mufflers for portions of turbo back exhaust system instead of just straight exhaust tubing. In hopes of a louder and unique exhaust sound. As turbochargers act as a pseudo muffler, decreasing exhaust volume. However, the largest diameter glasspack is around 4 inches. I had planned on expanding the exhaust tubing from the exhaust side of the turbo to 5 inches. As turbos like large exhaust diameter/exhaust flow. Has anyone ever done such a thing? I realize that this would be both expensive as well as uncommon. Thanks
Nice video congratulation. Im a Brazilian military so I would like to know how could I fill the information about my experience in the form? could you help me
The path for a foreign A&P is very different from what I have experienced. I have looked in to it a little bit. Enough to realize I'm not the best person to ask.
Would this set up be the same on a 47 f1 my brakes gave out and I wanna do this
Brake systems are basically the same. It's just the part numbers for your specific application that change. It looks like POL (Performance Online) had a setup for your truck too.
Great video. Can you please tell me what list part number this carb is.
Man that was simple
I did a 4 wheel disk and put the M 1922 master cylinder ,now the bake pedal is very hard and don't stop. Any ideas? Should i go to a 7/8 master?
Yeah. You don’t have enough mechanical advantage over the slave cylinders. Also. Make sure the master push rod is in the highest hole.
@@BurnoutsAndRotorblades Thanks, so i shouldn't need another master cylinder? Just move it to the upper hole?
@pabloperez6331 it’s the free option. Try it first.
I was in the upper hole but I discover that the lines in the master cylinder were backwards, the front to the rear and the rear to the front now I can lock the brakes! Than for your help YOU THA MAN!
Jesus, this worked for me. I almost tossed out my 20 year old machine because I had no pressure . Thank you !!!
Man brother. I’m a Veteran myself. I’m barely coming too. I have always wanted to fly! I’m here this horrible state of California. Southern California area. What flight school would you recommend?
Well, unfortunately the VA has made it to where Liberty University can no longer use it's flight affiliates for VA students. Your best bet is to get on the phone and call around to every school and flight school in your area. The approvals of flight programs come-and-go at the whim of the VA so it's hard to keep track of who is even operating. I used to use Charter college, but I believe thir program was disapproved by the VA.
